Rebecca Caplan

Gymnastics and A&T Advisor

I competed as a level 10 gymnast before achieving my lifelong goal of pursuing NCAA gymnastics.

I began coaching at the age of 14 and after my competitive career I quickly moved into leadership positions, becoming an Optional Head Coach and Gym Director at the age of 25. I coached athletes on the elite track, worked with the National Team staff, and coached numerous State, Regional, and National champions.

The program I built had a great deal of momentum, and the athletes were achieving remarkable results, but I felt disconnected from my passion for coaching and for the sport.

I transitioned out of the world of Head Coaching, and began my journey of finding ways to pursue what I was truly passionate about in the world of gymnastics; helping athletes to gain confidence, learn life lessons, and achieve their personal athletic goals

Along this journey I coached Team Canada to a Bronze Medal at the 2017 Maccabiah Games, getting to share a life changing and formative experience with an incredible group of athletes and I connected with the NCATA and learned about the origins of the sport and its goals.

I was absolutely captivated by the opportunities that this sport provided to athletes with such a large variety of skill sets and from so many different backgrounds. I knew that I wanted to be a part of helping this sport to grow. I became an NCATA Official in 2016, and after having the incredible experience of being an Official for NCATA nationals in 2019, I became a Head Official. I served on the National Officials Committee in 2021 and 2022 to help make changes and institute policies for the growth, development, and consistency of Officials nationwide.

The opportunity to be a college athlete is about so much more than the sport itself. There is something so special about entering college and immediately having community. There is something so bonding about working day in and day out with a passionate group of athletes and coaches towards personal growth, communal growth, and achieving a common goal.

Outside of advising with JH consulting I’m an NYC based actor, dancer, aerialist, and stunt performer. This year I’ve had the incredible opportunity to go on both a National Tour and Local Tour with Enchantment Theater Company, perform at Dollywood, and work with Alterra Productions and The Ghostly Circus.

I love sharing my extensive passion for and knowledge of the NCATA while helping prospective student athletes along the path to their dreams.”
